 La Hacienda Apartments    LaL

Through the Neighborhood Stabilization Program, YES Housing has acquired the dilapidated, formerly vacant, market-rate, 22 unit La Hacienda Apartments in Belen, New Mexico for rehabilitation.  This community had been in distress and the development was in need of renovation.  La Hacienda’s rehabilitation is complete. The apartments will provide housing for families and individuals with incomes at or below 50% of the area median income ($30,500 annual income for a family of 4), fulfilling YES Housing's mission and helping to meet the needs of the City of Belen.  Being that La Hacienda was once a blight in the community, the hope is that this positive change will follow out into the community and assist in revitalizing the surrounding area.

This renovation has extensively upgraded the property with a budget of over $65,000 per unit.  Improvements include renovation of the common area facilities, including the creation of a playground area for the community's children.  The resident's homes now have refrigerated air/furnace systems, all new doors, windows, CFL light bulbs, EnergyStar rated appliances, new cabinetry, countertops, ranges and hoods and new flooring.  All buildings have been re-roofed, landscaped and parking has been repaired.  The property's rehabilitation has been funded by the Mortgage Finance Authority's Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP).  YES Housing, Inc. is serving as the developer and owner.
